Studio Teatralne Próby

The Theatre Ship is the effect of months of collaboration between Stadt-Spiel-Truppe from Potsdam, Germany, and Studio Teatralne PRÓBY from Centrum Kultury "Zamek" in Poznań. Water, which usually divides and separates lands, this time is supposed to bring young people of both groups together. They want to demonstrate that they do not consider border, national, or mental divisions an obstacle; what is more, they find them a source of artistic inspiration. Thus, for a whole week in June, the ship, banks of the river, and the Ostrów Tumski area will teem with life, joy, youth and entertainment.

The performance of Versunkene Geschichten...z wody czerpane is the most important project so far carried out by the companies. It is a combination of History and Nature, the past and the present, the power of old custom and the present sense of togetherness. Germans and Poles are cast here in stereotyped - although far from trite - situations: lame ducks looking for happiness, lovers and dreamers, visionaries, clowns and musicians. Zatopione historie... z wody czerpane is based on own script, original music and design, as well as the expressive power of ca. 20 actors.

Another joint performance is Czerwone, białe, niebieskie, żółte. It is an open-air version of The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish. During a holiday trip, a modern-day, somewhat crazy family unexpectedly find a gold fish, which begins to make their dreams come true...

Furthermore, the companies are going to present pieces from their own repertoire:

Stadt-Spiel-Truppe: Mahagonny based on Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, The Serenade by Sławomir Mrożek, Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry, Operetta acc. to Franz Lehar.

Studio Teatralne PRÓBY:  Historie z życia wzięte - Julia Rybicka and songs of the inter-war period, The Lesson by Eugene Ionesco, The Bald Soprano by Eugene Ionesco.
