Wieczorynka

Ula Kijak
Duration: 1h 10

Description

"Wieczorynka" [A Bed-Time Story]* is a project of the urban performance for children, based on Michał Walczak's text of "Ostatni tatuś" [The Last Daddy]*. The main subject of the performance is the loneliness of a child whose father has been taken away by urban culture. A night, dangerous expedition through the city - the streets, parks, bus stops and office buildings, restores proper family relations and tames the unknown and formerly unfriendly space.

"Wieczorynka" uses the topography of Poznań [the Karol Marcinkowski Park, Delta office building, or tram line]. Ania, the main character of the performance, engages little spectators into a series of interactive activities [ e.g. finding the key to prison to release Ania; repairing ear flaps for Azor to prevent his being bewildered by Bamberka's singing; or devising a smart "forfeit" to get in the Grey Tram].

Although it is mainly addressed to children, the project gets adults involved, too. The elements of group play give both of them a chance to hone their cooperational skills and serve as a pretext for spending an evening together.
