Poznan International Fair

Address: entry from Śniadeckich street

Description

Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie (Poznań International Fair) is one of the largest trade fairs in Poland with a roughly 50% share in the market. Its story begins in 1911 with the Eastern German Exhibition for which the Upper Silesian Tower was built. Later, upon the foundations of the Tower, the so-called "Iglica" (Spire) was erected and soon became one of Poznań's best known landmarks. The Malta Foundation has been collaborating with the Management of PIF for many years and owing to this, it was possible to use the venue to stage the concerts of stars like Sinead O’Connor, Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction. In 2010, as part of the Idiom: Flanders, the premises will be used to present the shows of Jan Lauwers & Needcompany, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Jan Fabre, Fumiyo Ikeda & Tim Etchells, as well as Alain Platela & Les Ballets C de la B.
