Jean-Paul Lefeuvre & Didier Andre

Jean-Paul Lefeuvre and Didier André are artists who carry with them the whole positive charge of the term “clown”. Their performances are more than just series of circus gags. Ten years ago, both were members of Cirque O, a circus troupe in which, conspicuously, no animals were worked with, but the humans who worked there were exploited and treated very badly. The artists’ present work is an attempt to oppose such form of the circus art. They want to create intimate circus; they do not perform in large tents, in which the spectator becomes an anonymous gawker, but try to build a feeling of personal contact with the audience.
