Founded at the turn of 2002 and 2003, Karbido are a rock trio featuring drummer and composer Paweł Czepułkowski, guitar player, composer and arranger Igor Gawlikowski, as well as composer and lyricist maot (Marek Otwinowski). There are several musicians around the band, and countless ideas among them. And so, here is a new theatrical, musical, performer situation, or perhaps something that exceeds all classifications? ”Szmeroszepty klonowe czyli partytura na czterech panów i stół” / ”Maple Murmur-Whispers, or a Score for Four Gentlemen and a Table” a phenomenon previously unheard of at the MALTA, one that arouses interest the world over. Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival 2007, London, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, are just a handful of places in which the exceptional instrument shall sound. For Stolik is an unusual undertaking. Trying to escape into the absurd and tired with playing ”normal” instruments, musicians appropriate for their art a most common thing – a table. Together with their long-time collaborator, saxophone player and theatrical score composer, Michał Litwiniec, as well as acoustician Jacek Federowicz, Karbido come up with a truly unique creation: six cohesive compositions performed with bravado and mastery on a specially designed table.
