Waldemar Raźniak

Waldemar Raźniak is the librettist and director of the "Solaris Electronic Opera", and Karol Nepelski - the author of music. An actor and graduate of the Kraków PWST (the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts), Raźniak [b. 1982] is now a student of the Directing Department of The Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw. Karol Nepelski graduated from the Faculty of Musical Composition, Academy of Music in Kraków. At present he is reading for his PhD degree under the supervision of Professor Krzysztof Penderecki. 2005 saw the first performance of Raźniak and Nepelski's musical "Wampir" [Vampire] - libretto, songtexts and direction by Waldemar Raźniak, music by Karol Nepelski - put on the stage of the PWST in Kraków. In 2006 during the Kraków Composers' Days they realised the 30 minute long happening of "Solaris", the first version of the opera at the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre (Stage in the Gate).
