Chris Kondek / Christiane Kühl

Chris Kondek (b. 1962) is an American video artist. He worked with the famous Wooster Group from New York for whom he created videos in times when they were pioneers in the integration of modern media and performance in theatre. Because the term “video artist” had not yet been coined his official title was “lighting designer”. In the 1990s he worked with Robert Wilson and Michael Nyman, as well as the artist and musician Laurie Anderson. In 1999 he came to Europe where he began working on theatre projects with artists like Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods, René Pollesch and Stefan Pucher. Chris Kondek lives and works in Berlin.
