Katarzyna Klimkiewicz (b. 1977) is a graduate of the Directing Department at the National School of Film, Television and Theatre, Łódż. She is also a grant holder of the Binger Film Institute, Amsterdam. Her documentary Wasserschlacht – The Great Border Battle, produced with Andrew Friedman, received the Berlin Today Award at the 2007 Berliniale. Her script Hanoi-Warsaw won the Młode kadry – Debiutanci competition organised by Telewizja Kino Polska. This provided for the production of a film that has won great acclaim at numerous festivals and has been nominated for a European Film Academy Short Film Award (2010).
