After five years in Berlin at the Tempodrôme alternative theatre Philippe Freslon created Compagnie Off in 1986. The work of this Street Arts company is a mixture of circus and lyrical theatre bound by colours and rhythms. Through hard work, extravaganza and imagination they build a carnal relation with the audience. Their art becomes a tapestry woven from fragments of the urban space [key element in the majority of projects]. In their performances the company handle universal themes - love, death, difference. They unite the modern perspective with everyday life, and make references to the past as well. One of their mottos is: "to want, always to want".
