New Musette & Tango NuevoNEW MUSETTE QUARTET
The ensemble was founded as the Musette Quartet in 1993 by Wiesław Prządka, graduate of the Academy of Music in Poznań, and one of the leading Polish accordion players; in 2003, the group changed the name and have since performed as the New Musette Quartet.
Besides Prządka, the band features Edmunt Klaus on guitars, Zbigniew Wrombel, one of the best Polish bass players, and Andrzej Mazurek who plays percussion instruments. The ensemble's repertoire contains excellent pieces played in the new musette style, as well as the tango nuevo, jazz and Latin American standards, and the artists' own compositions. As the musicians are inspired by the work of the accordion virtuoso, Richard Galliano, and the outstanding composer, Astor Piazzolla, the New Musette Quartet's art blends the richness of the French, delicate, melodious climate with the Argentinian temperament.
