Anna R. Burzyńska is a theatre researcher and critic. She is a junior staff member at the Department of Theatre, Jagiellonian University. Since 2000, she has been a member of the editorial staff of the magazine Gazeta Teatralna „Didaskalia”, and between 2004 and 2010 a theatre reviewer for Tygodnik Powszechny. She has published the books: Mechanika cudu (The Mechanics of a Miracle, 2005) and The Classics and the Troublemakers (2008). Her main focus is on contemporary European theatre, the connections between theatre, music and the modern media, as well as 19th and 20th-century Polish and German drama.
Piotr Gruszczyński is a dramaturge and theatre critic. Since 2008 he has been working in Krzysztof Warlikowski's Nowy Teatr. He collaborates on Mariusz Treliński's opera productions. He has published two books: Ojcobójcy (Patricides, 2003) and Szekspir i uzurpator (Shakespeare and the Usurper, 2007).
Marianne Van Kerkhoven started working in theatre in the 1970s. From 1976 to 1982 she worked at the Brussels University as a researcher in theatre science. In the early 1980s, she started working at the Brussels Kaaitheater as dramaturge. She worked with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Jan Lauwers, Josse De Pauw, Jan Ritsema, Peter van Kraaij, Guy Cassiers, Rudi Meulemans and others. Recently she started developing dramaturgical work with a new generation of young artists, e.g. Kris Verdonck, Hooman Sharifi, Marijs Boulogne, Merlin Spie and others. She has given many lectures and written many articles about dance and theatre. She was a member of the editorial board of Etcetera, the Flemish magazine of performing arts, since its beginning in 1983 till 2004, and was editor in chief of the four-lingual magazine Theaterschrift from 1990 to 1995. An anthology of her articles was published in 2002 in the book Van het kijken en van het schrijven. She has won various awards for her work. Since 2009, she has been teaching at the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands).
