Dirk Fleischmann is a German visual artist based in Frankfurt and Seoul where he is Visiting Professor at the Hansung University. In his works he explores and criticises the structures of global economy. At the same time he turns his artistic projects into commodities of specific economic value and reinvests them to provide for subsequent realisations. Dirk Fleischmann features at this year’s Malta Festival with his performative installation myfashionindustry.

Stefan Kaegi is a theatre director. He studied visual arts in Zurich and applied theatre studies at the University of Giessen (whose alumni also include René Pollesch and Tim Staffel). In 2000, with Helgard Haug and Daniel Wetzel, he founded the Berlin-based theatre collective Rimini Protokoll hailed one of the most interesting theatre phenomena in Europe and honoured with numerous awards, for instance the German Theatre Award Der Faust (2007), the New Theatre Realities Prize being part of the Europe Theatre Prize awarded to artists who create new theatre language (2008) and the Silver Lion at the 41st Theatre Festival, Venice Biennale (2011). Stefan Kaegi is the curator of this year’s Malta Festival Idiom Akcje Azjatyckie / Asian Investments.
