Anli Pollicino

Duration: 1 h

Anli Pollicino is a young band from Japan whose members began working together in 2006 to become one of the most unique projects in the Tokyo underground scene. The artists continue the visual kei tradition which took Japanese pop culture by storm in the 1990s. This extremely expressive style represented by many Japanese groups is featured by eccentricity manifesting in colourful makeup, clothes and hairstyles to produce the effect of an overstyled transgender character. The band’s musical inspirations include Skid Row, X Japan and Marilyn Manson. Their concerts, apart from powerful visual impressions, provide a portion excellent Japanese rock filtered through Anli Pollicicino’s subversive sensitivity and their favourite genres, for instance gothic and electro. This May they released their latest album, Life Is Beautiful.
